Inaugurated Council Meets, December Storytime, Holiday Show

Council tonight - The Woonsocket City Council meets tonight, 7 p.m., at Harris Hall in City Hall, 169 Main St. On their agenda, they're scheduled to hear communications from Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt on the resignations of Al Beauparlant and Julie Larivee from the Redevelopment Agnecy. Beauparlant resigned earlier this month after he said a city councilor made it clear his efforts to aid the city would be blocked.

The Council will also hold a public hearing for Timeless Antiques, which is seeking to transfer its license from 30 Main St. to 91 Main St., the old site of the Cakery, which recently closed for a second time.

Holiday stories Wednesday- Visit the Woonsocket Harris Public Library Wednesday for December Holidays Storytime, 10:30-11:15 a.m., for kids  3 1/2 to 5 years. Sign up by calling 401-769-9044 ext 2.

Scout Holiday Show Wednesday Troop 2  Woonsocket will be celebrating the spirit of the season with our annual Holiday Show! This year's show will be presented on Wednesday December 18th from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.
We would like to invite all of our friends in the Scouting and Parish community. Join us for this fun filled night of songs, skits and Yuletide joy! Anyone who would like to sing a song or perform a skit is more than welcome. Let us know what you would like to do and we will pencil you into the schedule.

As we have in done in the past we are asking that everyone bring a snack or beverage for folks to snack on during the show. Contact Scoutmaster Michael Heroux 401-688-6275.


Giving Tree 
- To help make the holidays brighter for children in need, BankRI has partnered with 12 local non-profits to provide gifts for the less fortunate this holiday season. Gifts collected at BankRI’s Woonsocket branch Giving Tree at 1175 Cumberland Hill Road will help Connecting for Children & Families.

 - The big guy is back in town this year, meeting with kids at the mini park at City Hall, 169 Main St., through Dec. 17. Check here for the dates
