Wednesday Five: Matthew Center, Pasta Dinner, Venture, Stories

Welcome to the middle of the week - here are some things to keep in mind.

 

Matthew 25 Center Open - Matthew 25 Center of Hope is opening its winter meal site for the eleventh year today at 4 p.m. at River First United Methodist Church, 17 Federal St. Meals are open to the community.  No Identification requirements except to sign in.  During these hard times the church has chose to soften the finacial burdens of the working middle class, homeless & marginal, by offering several meals during the winter months.  

Pasta - Today, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Catholic Financial Life District 1 and the Northern RI Council of the Arts host the third annual Pasta Dinner - All you can eat spaghetti, meatballs, salad, and bread - at the Italian Workingmen's Club, 947 Diamond Hill Road. Proceeds from this match fund event will benefit the Northern RI Council of the Arts to help support Mardi Gras 2013. Tickets are:

Venture - All Saints Parish's Venturing Crew meeting will be held tonight at the church, 6:45 p.m. Venturing, a little known part of The Boys Scouts of America, is made up of boys and girls between the ages of 14-21. It is a non denominational leadership program where youths learn to be leaders while enjoying the company of their peers under the supervision of registered adults of BSA.

Stories - Swing by the Woonsocket Public Library today at 10:30 a.m. for story time for kids aged 3 1/2 to 5 years. The 45 minute progam includes stories songs a brief movie and a craft! Stop by or call 769-9044 ext 2 or email cgoldstein@woonsocketlibrary.org.
