There's a winter storm watch in effect for Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, with a possible 6-8 inches of snow forecast for Woonsocket, which means a parking ban is in effect.
Heavy snowfall is expected to begin Saturday afternoon, lasting through the night and into Sunday. The City of Woonsocket will activate a Parking Ban from Saturday starting at 2 p.m. thru Sunday at 6 p.m. Parking is prohibited on all streets. Any vehicles left on the road will be towed and or/ticketed.
However, the Santa Hours scheduled for Saturday from 5-7 p.m. are still on. If the weather requires canceling Santa's appearance at the City Hall mini-park at 169 Main St., the city will update the information on its website homepage.
