Baldelli-Hunt Leads Mayoral Campaign Fundraising

Rep. Lisa Baldelli-Hunt (D-Dist. 49) has a generous fundraising lead on the other four candidates for mayor Nov. 5 with incumbent Mayor Leo Fontaine a distant second and the others not yet begun. 

Vying to run for the city's top job are Fontaine, Baldelli HuntDavid Fisher, Roland Michaud, and Michael Moniz. One of them will be eliminated in the Oct. 8 primary. 

According to the RI Secretary of State's office, Baldelli-Hunt has $20,753.10 in her campaign account

In contrast, Fontaine's campaign account has $3,127.79, unchanged since December 2011, according to the RI Secretary of State's office.

Fisher, Michaud, and Moniz do not yet have campaign funding reports on file.
  
According to the Providence Journal, in 2009 Fontaine won the Mayor's office with 3,928 votes to Todd Brien's 2,917 votes. During that race, according to RI Secretary of State records, Fontaine's campaign spent about $12,000. So far this year, Baldelli-Hunt's mayoral campaign has spent about $5,000, the lion's share of it at a fundraiser at Kirkbrae Country Club June 11, for $3,078.20.
