Apparently you can take the Walmart out of Woonsocket but you can't take the Woonsocket out of Walmart.

I hate that this happened. I worked at Walmart in woonsocket..during the store set up. My good friend miss Kate worked with me here in Washington state and is an assistant manager there in n.Smithfield. its a detriment to all other stores and the hard workers in them.

Actually, if it were still in Woonsocket, it would just be called stealing.

Remember. These people are charged. They are not guilty.
Common Sense September 21, 2012 at 09:47 PM
No hope that's because you can't spell embezzlement

I think of embezzling $9,514.25 would be cash, this many people in the mix, must of been merchandise ? Wecome to walmart steal what you want and get out. the bus will be here in 5 minutes. please come again.

It figures,Walmart moved out of Woonsocket, it's become more trashy....unfortunately the trashy people still come from Woonsocket, too bad they didn't steal books on how to get a job and be less trashy!!!

I have been to the Wal-Mart store just once to replace a defective battery I purchased when they were in Woonsocket. Did not spend a dime in that store during my short visit for the exchange and never will. That's my way of opposing their moving, to their difficult to reach, location and I suspect I am not alone. Only 2 cash registers were in use when I went.

I'm sad that Walmart moved to North Smithfield. I frequented the store often when it was here in Woonsocket and continue to do so now that it's moved.
DR September 23, 2012 at 02:50 AM
I agree with you Richard call it a boycott or whatever I have not set foot in Wal-Mart in N.Smithfield since they left Woonsocket and the same will happen to Lowes when they move to N.Smithfield.
Nancy September 23, 2012 at 11:22 AM
I agree with Dick, I will travel to Bellingham or Northbridge before I set foot in the North Smithfield store. This is my way of a protest. Besides the one time I did go to the store because I did not have time to travel to the others - they do NOT keep the store well stocked, the items I needed had one on display. Any other store that moves out of Woonsocket to North Smithfield will get the same treatment from me - I WILL NOT GO!

I try not to shop in China, which is what Walmart is.
Still Hope September 23, 2012 at 07:07 PM
Ni Hao. Where am I supposed to get my underwear and hearing aids?
Mew September 23, 2012 at 10:23 PM
Dick you are so right! I have not stepped foot in Walmart since they left woon. I never liked going there when it was in woon. I especially don't like them because most or all their store merchandise is MADE IN CHINA!! SHAME ON YOU YVETTE!! People have to start buying MADE IN AMERICA!!!!! WAKE UP YVETTE !!!!!!!
Dan Tvaroha September 24, 2012 at 04:07 PM
Mew and English - Have you checked the merchandise tags in any of the 'National' chains? A large percentage of items are imported from China. The chains I am referring to are CVS, Walgreens, Target, Rite Aid, JC Penney, Macy's, Christmas Tree Shops for example. I support buying local, but it is not just Walmart that buys goods from China.

Shame on Woonsocket for ever allowing Walmart to leave. We needed the tax money and now Lowe's will soon follow, Fashion Bug is going under. Diamond Hill Road is becoming a ghost town. You can't blame Walmart for wanting more space. You can blame the good ol' peple in Woonsocket for not allowing them to expand. The only person that you are hurting by boycotting that store is yourself. You are now going to pay how much extra in gas to go that much further? If you still shop at one of their stores, it is irrelevant which one you go to, they aren't franchised. The corporation as a whole is still making money. I don't love the new store by any stretch of the imagination, but for certain items, I will go into the store.
Mew September 24, 2012 at 08:17 PM
Dan, I am well aware of that!! I have changed my buying habits and will not buy anyhting not made in america!! It's a bit hard but I refuse to buy made in china or anywhere else for that matter!! Of course I agree with you, all those stores you mention are in the chinese pockets. You buy cheap, you get cheap!! NOT ME!!!!!!
Mew September 24, 2012 at 11:25 PM
YOU SHOP WHERE YOU WANT, I WILL SHOP WHERE I WANT!! END OF STORY
DR September 25, 2012 at 12:00 PM
Suzy both Wal-mart and Lowes were given super deals as anchor stores in the new site. Woonsocket is supplying the water-way to go Woonsocket leaders. It is relevant which store you go to because corporate has sales projections for each store and if it is not met in a certain time frame the store will be closed. Customers from Woonsocket make up a huge portion of sales. The new Lowes in Quonset closed in less than 2 years.

Hahaha! Nice one!
Walmart worker September 30, 2012 at 12:19 AM
well all the people above that trash talk the walmart for moving out of woonsocket why don't you go cry to the people that lived behind the walmart that put up the fight to stop the supercenter from going there in the first place yes I work there and know the facts and the true ones before you all shoot the mouth off
josh October 05, 2012 at 02:15 PM
i suggest watching Walmart this high cost of low prices on netflix.com you will all think twice about supporting walmart and we should be glad it left woonsocket
Adam Trudel February 03, 2013 at 02:06 AM
Walmart worker, why did the residents have a grievance in the first place to the Wal-mart? Would a supercenter be more detrimental to surrounding businesses? For someone who knows the facts you're being unfairly narrow minded
behonest March 13, 2013 at 01:32 AM
well there are people in this world that think nothing of stealing, and it is such a shame. it will effect everyone. i worked with that girl at walmart, and i was shocked to see it on line. many honest people are looking for jobs. to bad they can't tell the good and the bad when they hire them. c.m.
