WPD Seeking Missing Boy Last Seen With Mother Jan. 8

Woonsocket Police are seeking the public's help finding a missing six-year-old boy who may be en-route to Washington state with his mother in violation of a RI Family Court order.

Daniel Britt, 6, was last seen Jan. 8 with his mother, Andria Britt.  She is driving a red 2004 Ford sedan, with RI plates, 942-649. It has a yellow sticker that reads “Support your local farmers” on the driver side back bumper.

Police believe Andria is taking Daniel to Camano Islands in Washington state.

Daniel is 4’3”, about 50 lbs with blue eyes and brown hair. Andria Britt is 35, 5’6”, weighing 110-120 lbs.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel and/or Andria to call the Woonsocket Police Department at 401-766-1212.

This was all over Facebook last week. I don't get why it took nearly a week for the police to be involved in spreading the news. If they took off a week ago, odds are good they won't be found locally.

I was thinking the same thing, Ed. Since it involves a child and (I assume) a custody dispute, wouldn't you expect that this would have been sent to the press more quickly? I wonder where the snag happened to slow this alert down.
