Woonsocket Police Vice Squad Arrests Man For Selling Cocaine

Police arrested Chyron Abney Thursday after acting on two warrants.

 

The Woonsocket Police Vice Squad arrested a local man Thursday for selling cocaine, finding crack, marijuana, counterfeit bills and pills at his Olo Street apartment in the process. 

Police arrested Chyron Abney of 27 Olo St., 1st floor, seizing $580 worth of crack cocaine, $200 worth of marijuana, six fake $20 bills and precription medications not prescribed to him.

As part of an ongoing investigation by the Vice Squad, an arrest warrant was obtained for Abney for two counts of Delivery of Cocaine along with a search warrant for Abney’s apartment, according to a release from Woonsocket Police Public Information Officer Det. Jamie Paone.

On Thursday, Nov. 1, Abney was seen by the Vice Squad driving a green Pontiac on Arnold Street, where he was taken into custody based on the active arrest warrant.

Officers then searched Abney’s apartment based on the signed search warrant for his apartment, locating crack cocaine, marijuana, pills, and cash.

Based on the arrest warrant and search of his apartment Abney has been charged with three counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I/II,  Distribution of a Controlled Substance Near School, Possession of Marijuana-subsequent offense, Possession of Counterfeit Bill, and two counts of Possession of schedule I-V.
