Woonsocket Mom Searching for Runaway Teen

Update: Mrs. St. George reported her son was found as of 11 a.m. Sunday.

Aug. 30, 2:28 p.m.
At last night's 125th Birthday Block Party, Melissa St. George was passing out fliers with pictures of her son, Evan, 15, who she said left a group home in Pawtucket Sunday night.

St. George said her son was at the group home for treatment for violent behavior, and she suspects that he's made his way home to Woonsocket, where he may be a danger to himself and others. "This is the area he comes down to when he runs away," St. George said.

St. George said she has spoken with the Pawtucket Police about her son, but they can do little about the situation, since Evan left of his own volition, and wasn't abducted. Pawtucket Police did not immediately respond to a request for information about the wayward teen.

St. George also spoke with the Woonsocket Police about Evan yesterday at about 4 p.m. She said if they spot Evan, officers will pick him up. She asked if anyone knows of Evan's whereabouts that they contact Woonsocket Police at 401-769-4444 or her at 401-767-6326. Woonsocket Police were unable to comment on the matter, since the teen is a minor.

At the moment, "I don't know if he's alive. I don't know if he's hurt," St. George said.
