Woonsocket Man Gets 2 Years in Prison for Kiddie Porn

A 26-year-old Woonsocket man who was collecting child pornography and sharing pictures and videos on the Internet was sentenced to two years in federal prison, United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha announced Wednesday.

Christopher Marion, 26, of Woonsocket, will also serve 10 years supervised release upon completion of his prison term.

Marion pleaded guilty to one county of possession of child pornography in August of 2013 after an investigation by a Special Agent from the United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

Court records show the agent was investigating file sharing networks to identify users sharing child porn and numerous files were being shared from an IP address in Woonsocket. That address led police to Marion, who seized a laptop containing 552 pictures and 52 videos from his house after a court-authorized search.

The videos mostly depicted prepubescent females engaged in sexual acts with adult males.

Marion was arrested on June 13 and released to home confinement at the time of his arrest. He will surrender on March 10 to begin serving his prison sentence.

The Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force assisted NCIS and HSI agents in the investigation.

At sentencing, U.S. District Court Chief Judge William E. Smith ordered Marion to serve 10 years supervised release upon completion of his prison term. Marion pleaded guilty on August 23, 2013, to one count of possession of child pornography.
