Woman Dies in Local Crash
Authorities said woman drove into a tree on Great Road in North Smithfield Tuesday.
A woman died in a crash in North Smithfield Tuesday afternoon.
ABC6.com reported the 57-year-old woman drove into a tree on Great Road. Her identity was withheld pending notification of family members.
Firefighters from Woonsocket and surrounding communities responded to the scene and had to use cutting equipment to free the victim, according to the Woonsocket Call. She was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities were investigating the cause of the crash.
