Teen Praised For Helping Driver Off Ice At Cass Pond

Quick action, comforting gesture praised by witness, WHS assistant principal.

 

Friday wasn't shaping up well for Ziengxay Kmon, 52, when a mishap landed her car on the ice at Cass Pond, but she was lucky Woonsocket High student Kyle Mulvey was nearby.

According to a report and video from Turnto10.com, the teen rushed onto the ice to help her out of the car, getting there before fire and police responders and helping her out of the vehicle, which she was unable to get out of by herself, escorting her to safety.

The Valley Breeze reports Mulvey sat with his arm around Kmon until police arrived.   

Woonsocket High School Assistant Principal Carnell Henderson praises Mulvey in the video, as does the Channel 10 viewer who notified the news station about his quick action.
