Troopers charge City man as fugitive from justice in MA

On Oct. 3, Detectives assigned to the ACI charged James M. Grilli, 30, with a last known address of 2133 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket, with being a Fugitive from Justice from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Interstate Compact had filed a detainer for Grilli for Violation of Probation on an original charge of Disorderly Conduct from the Seekonk Police.

Grilli appeared before the Honorable Judge William Clifton in Third Division District Court, where extradition proceedings were waived. Grilli was remanded to the Intake Service Center of the ACI to await Massachusetts authorities.

Troopers arrest man wanted for obstructing North Smithfield Police

On Oct. 1, at 1:20 a.m., troopers arrested Louis Scott, age 44, of 98 Montgomery St., Newport, RI for 1.) Third District Court Bench warrant for Failure to Appear for Payment on the charge of Obstructing a Police Officer in Execution of Duty, originating out of the North Smithfield Police Department. Arrest was the result of a well-being check of a road walker on JT Connell Highway, in the City of Newport. 

Scott was transported to the Wickford Barracks, where he was processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution.
