Police Log: Woman Arrested For Striking Ex-Boyfriend With Pan

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Dawn Riendeau, 32, of 456 Grove St., apt. 2nd, upset that her ex-boyfriend might have been unfaithful before they parted, has more immediate worries after she struck him with a pan Oct. 2.

Woonsocket Police caught up with her at her home at 9:34 p.m. Oct. 10., arresting her and charging her with domestic felony assault, domestic breaking and entering and domestic disorderly conduct.

On Oct. 2, police responded to o 337 Third Ave., apt. 1, at 10:18 p.m. for a report of a domestic assault with a cooking pan. When they arrived, they met with Lance Blicker, 33, who told them that his ex, Riendeau, had shown up at his apartment, pushed her way in and started arguing with him. Riendeau accused him of being unfaithful while they were together.

Blicker said the two are attempting to work out their relationship, but Riendeau becomes violent when they argue. During the argument, he walked away into the kitchen and asked her to leave several times. This infuriated her, he said, and she followed him and slapped him in the face. Blicker asked her to leave again, but she grabbed a pan and hit him in the back of the head with it instead.

Next, Riendeau picked up a pan with cold grease in it and threw it at him, Blicker said, before storming out.

Blicker was informed of his rights under the Rhode Island Domestic Violence Law. Police responded to Riendeau's home, but were unable to locate her until Oct. 10.

Now how can that be a domestic charge when they weren't living together nor were they a couple anymore ? Assault yes, that should be the charge. I could never understand that 1, anything to bring $$$ into the State, and a Posible felony on her record. Crazy State you have there.

it dont matter. the fact they were in a relationship before and both stated they were trying to work on things considers it a domestic. I was attacked 3yrs ago by my ex and we were not living together nor in a relationship and they charged him with a domestic. I understand ur point as to it just being an assult & its a way to bring money into the state but thats just how it works. as long as the people were in a prior relationship and still have contact makes it a domestic.

If she was smart, she should have sprayed the pan with SPAM first, would have never been caught.

It did say in the article that they were trying to work things out. To me that means they were STILL a couple, therefore domestic assault!!
