Police Log: Man Sneaks Into Apartment, Violating No Contact Order

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Nov. 13 at about 7 p.m., two Woonsocket Police officers were dispatched to an apartment at 206 Dulude Avenue to check on an apartment for a woman who wanted them to ensure that Ruben Padilla, 25, her ex-boyfriend and father of her two children, was not in the home.
A no-contact order had been issued against Padilla forbidding him to be near the woman or in the apartment.
Police entered the home with the woman's keys and found Padilla inside, hiding in the spare bedroom closet. He charged the officer, trying to push past him and calling to the woman, "Babe, please don't do this to me," according to the report.
The two officers continued to struggle with Padilla as he called to the woman, saying he couldn't believe she was doing this to him and swearing at her. The officers told him multiple times to put his hands behind his back and stop resisting.
Padilla was eventually handcuffed and taken to the officers' cruiser, while he continued to struggle and turn toward one of the officers in a violent manner, according to the report.
The officers noted that prior to the Nov. 13 arrest, Padilla's keys to the apartment had been taken by the woman, who said she was concerned about him since he had still managed to get into the apartment.
One of the officers also noted the lights in the apartment were off when they entered, and there were no bags or luggage to indicate Padilla had returned for his things.
Padilla was charged with violation of no contact order, resisting arrest, assault, and domestic breaking and entering.
