Police Log: Man Arrested For Firing BB Gun From Second Floor Apartment

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Ibrahim Rompy Medina, 25, of 100 Robinson St., apt. 6, would've been smart to abstain from target practice within city limits, since it's illegal and he wasn't invisible to his neighbors.

Police responded to his apartment building at about 7:43 p.m. Dec. 2 for a report of someone firing a BB gun off a second floor balcony. They spoke with a woman who said that as she was taking out the trash with her son, she heard multiple BB gun shots from above, looked up and saw Medina firing into the trees nearby.

The woman said the yelled up at him, "What the hell are you doing?" and went inside with her son.

Police spoke with two other people in the building who confirmed the story, and then knocked on Medina's door. A search of his bedroom, with Medina's permission, didn't turn up the gun. Police arrested him nonetheless, acting on probably cause from the reports of his neighbors.
