Man Arrested After Witness Sees Him Pin Woman With Truck, Punch Her

On Oct. 6 at about 4:30 a.m., a Privilege Street woman awakened by loud noise looked out her window at Roland Street, seeing a man pin a woman with his truck, then punch her in the face.

The woman called Woonsocket Police, and Officer Patrick McGourty was dispatched to the area. Upon arriving, the officer spoke with a woman, the alleged victim, who had a scratch on her chest and red marks on her neck, saying they were from a branch and anxiety, respectively.

The woman said she and her boyfriend, Fabiano Hasteinriter, 28, of 21 Carrigton Street, Blackstone, MA, had been in an argument over whether Hasteinriter was fit to drive after drinking, and she had attempted to take his keys.

The witness elaborated, saying the woman and Hasteinriter had both pulled in to the lot for Michaud's Auto Body and briefly exchanged words. Next, she said, Hasteinriter got back in his truck, put it in reverse, and backed into the woman, pinning her. He then exited the truck and punched the woman in the face. The witness said Hasteinriter had fled as police arrived.

As they were speaking, McGourty saw Hasteinriter returning to the area and ordered him to halt. Hasteinriter ran away, and McGourty pursued him, catching him at 381 Privilege St.

McGourty charged Hasteinriter with domestic felony assault and domestic simple assault.
