Updated: Man Arrested after Landmark Medical Center Lockdown

Updated: A man was arrested after two-hours of Landmark Medical Center being under lockdown.

Police said a man was despondent and outside the Emergency Room. Reports indicate that he had a gun and was threatening to kill himself.

Police approached the man and subdued him using a flashbang device before taking him into custody.

Police Chief Thomas S. Carey told the Providence Journal that nobody was injured in the incident and the suspect was going through family issues.

Landmark Medical Center is under lockdown and area roads are shut down for a police incident.

Police confirmed they are responding to the facility due to an internal incident.

Cass Avenue is closed to traffic.

Unconfirmed reports suggest a man went into the hospital with a weapon.

Ambulances are currently being diverted to other area hospitals.
