Updated: A man was arrested after two-hours of Landmark Medical Center being under lockdown.

Police said a man was despondent and outside the Emergency Room. Reports indicate that he had a gun and was threatening to kill himself.

Police approached the man and subdued him using a flashbang device before taking him into custody.

Police Chief Thomas S. Carey told the Providence Journal that nobody was injured in the incident and the suspect was going through family issues.

From earlier:

Landmark Medical Center is under lockdown and area roads are shut down for a police incident.

Police confirmed they are responding to the facility due to an internal incident.

Cass Avenue is closed to traffic.

Unconfirmed reports suggest a man went into the hospital with a weapon.

Ambulances are currently being diverted to other area hospitals.

More details will be posted as they become available.

These psychiatric cases should necessitate a longer than usual hospital stay to help this person. With a two or three day stay at Landmark and a court date he hasn't gotten the help he needs. Getting psychiatric help is easy but should be made easier for people in need of it so desperately. Glad to read that everyone is safe.
