The morning of Dec. 29 was off to an inauspicious start for an Arizona woman who crashed into a parked car on Rathbun Street, pushing it into another car.
The evening go worse when she handed an officer her credit card instead of her license, told him she thought she was in Cumberland and spoke with such slurred speech she was unintelligible.
Officers were called to 191 Rathbun St. at 1:32 p.m. for a report of a car crashed into a parked car, according to the report of Officer Matthew Labine. When they arrived, they found the Ford Escape driven by Kathleen Chisholm, 56, of 11722 N. Quandry Dr., Oro Valley, AZ, had crashed into a parked red 1998 Mitsubishi Spyder, pushing that car into the car in front of it.
Chisholm gave officers her credit card instead of her license, smelled strongly of alcohol and heavily slurred her speech so that much of what she said was not comprehensible, according to Labine's report. Despite her slurred words, Labine wrote, he was able to hear her tell him, "I was driving and the next thin I remember was being yelled at by someone that I hit their car," according to the report. She also told Labine she thought she was in Cumberland.
Chisholm failed a series of field sobriety tests, almost falling over during the walk and turn and the one-leg stand. Labine arrested her.
At the station, she had readings of .156 and .158 on a breath alcohol test. After, Labine charged her with driving under the influence of alcohol.
