Brothers Nabbed in Drug Bust at Home Neighboring Coleman Elementary

Two brothers face charges for intent to distribute illegal drugs after Woonsocket Police raided their 167 Second Ave. home Aug. 9, seizing $1,000 worth of crack cocaine, cocaine, Hydrocodone pills, and heroin, as well as a gun and $26,000 in cash. 

The bust collared brothers Ernest Brochu Jr., 21 and Ryan Brochu, 20, who live at the address, according to a release distributed to media by Woonsocket Police Information Officer Det. Jamie Paone. The home is about 500 feet from Coleman Elementary at 96 2nd Ave.

Ernest is charged with two counts of Manufacturing/Possession/Intent to Deliver Schedule 1/II, one count of Manufacturing/Possession/Delivery Schedule III/IV, and Distribute Controlled Substance near School based on the fact that the residence is located about 500’ from an Elementary School.

Ryan is charged with two counts of Manufacturing/Possession/Intent to Deliver Schedule 1/II, one count of Manufacturing/Possession/Delivery Schedule III/IV, Carry Dangerous Weapons when in Crime of Violence, and Distribute Controlled Substance near School.

The two appeared in court on Aug. 13 for a bail hearing, and are being held without bail.
