Roland B. Durocher: Northern Rhode Islander Worked At ITT Royal Electric

US Army vet served during World War II.

 

Roland B. Durocher, 87, of Central St., Manville died Saturday morning at Landmark Medical Center, according to Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home.

He was the loving husband of Pauline A. (LeClerc) Durocher. They were married on July 5, 1975.

Born in Manville, he was a son of the late Napoleon and Eva (Lajoie) Durocher. He resided in Manville for most of his life having also lived in Pawtucket and Central Falls for about 20 years.

Mr. Durocher served in the Army during WWII.

In his early years he worked at the Manville Jenckes Mill in Manville and later was employed by ITT Royal Electric in Pawtucket for over 25 years before retiring in 1987.

Roland was a lifelong communicant of St. James Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Maurice Durocher of Mendon, MA. He was the brother of the late Fernand and Conrad Durocher, Anita Rebello and Irene Tousignant. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

His burial with military honors in St. James Cemetery, Manville, followed a Mass of Christian funeral this morning.
