Obituary: Eva T. Brousseau

Eva T. Brousseau died on Friday at the Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center in Providence.

Eva T. Brousseau, 96, of Lincoln, was called home to her Savior on Friday at the Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Lucien L. Brousseau.

Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Zepherine (Lambert) Gregoire. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided in Lincoln for over 50 years.

Mrs. Brousseau was employed at Narragansett Knitting in her early years and was a dedicated homemaker.

Her joys in life centered around her faith as a communicant of St. James Church in Manville, her family as a mother of 12 children, and relative and friends as matriarch of a large extended clan.

Eva was a member of the RSVP Club, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-RI Chapter, and was an ardent Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

For the past 11 years Eva resided at St. Antoine Residence and counted her fellow residents as part of her family.

She is survived by her children, Lucien Brousseau of North Attleboro, Bob Brousseau of Texas, Roger Brousseau of Oregon, Sylvia Engel of Wisconsin, Normand Brousseau of Warwick, Edgar Brousseau of Florida, Bill Brousseau of North Carolina, Claire Entwistle and Sue Chasse both of Pascoag, Mary Johnson of Maine, and Lucille Beaudoin of Lincoln. She was the mother of the late Jeanne Durand and was predeceased by all 19 of her siblings. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several generations of nieces and nephews and their families.

Her funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the , 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI. 02904, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-RI Chapter, 205 Hallene Rd., Suite 209, Warwick, RI. 02886.
