Diana M. L'Etoile: Longtime Manville Resident, St. James Parishioner

Local woman died Monday at Cortland Place in Greenville.

 

Diana M. L'Etoile, 89, formerly of Parkway St., Manville, died Monday at Cortland Place in Greenville, according to Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home. 

She was the wife of the late Donatien D. L’Etoile.

Born in Marion, MA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph William Babineau and Marie (Girouard) Babineau. She was raised in Woonsocket and lived in Manville for most of her adult life.

Mrs. L’Etoile was employed by HealthTex and Miller Electric for many years.

Diana was a longtime parishioner of St. James Church and a member of the Manville Golden Agers. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an avid card player.

Diana will be remembered as being a loving wife and mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Richard L’Etoile, and his wife Ann Marie, of Moultonborough, NH, three grandchildren, David and Donald L’Etoile and Karen Costa and two great-grandchildren Benjamin and Adam. She was the sister of Jeannette Desjarlias of North Kingstown, Theresa Lavallee of FL, and Lorraine Allard of Portsmouth and sister-in-law of Theresa L’Etoile of Greenville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 pm.
