Woonsocket Transportation Forum

RIPTA recently underwent a Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) process to learn how to improve their services throughout the state. While RIPTA services were being evaluated internally, the City’s Main St. Livability Plan (WMSLP), which included representation from RIPTA on the task force, highlighted the need to better address transportation services, particularly bus stops, on Main Street. Both processes have implementation components that will bring changes in RIPTA’s bus service routes in Woonsocket.

This forum provides both RIPTA and the City an opportunity to tailor their plans of action to best meet the needs of Woonsocket residents and RIPTA riders. The schedule for the event is as follows:

  • 5-5:30pm:  Open house
  • 5:30-6:00pm: Welcoming Remarks and a presentation about current and proposed service changes
  • 6:00-7:00pm: Planning exercises and interactive stations to gather feedback

Improvements to service, based on the existing planning process and forum feedback, are expected as early as January of 2014.
