American Girl Doll Tea
Lincoln ’s historic Hearthside House Annual American Girl Doll Tea is this Saturday, June 7th
and Sunday, June 8th. A favorite for girls with their moms or grandmothers, this event
offers the elegance of all of Hearthside’s traditional afternoon teas. White
linen and lace tablecloths, fancy tiered dishes and elegant china,
miniature tea sandwiches and sweets, and hot tea or lemonade are featured
in the historic setting of this stately house.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for girls and their moms to
have a special afternoon together as well as a great excuse to get all
dressed up,” states Kathy Hartley, organizer of the event. “There will also be a presentation about
proper etiquette for young girls growing up in a house like Hearthside during
the 19 th century”, she adds, “which is always a hit with the moms!” Prizes, raffles, a favor for each girl,
tours of the house and shopping for a special treat in Hearthside’s Gift
Shop, which will include a wonderful collection of handmade outfits and accessories for the
dolls, all make for a memorable afternoon.
This event is especially designed for girls ages 5-10 and
their American Girl Dolls. Because of the popularity of the event,
it is being held on two days, and there are two seatings offered each day at 12:30
p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Cost is $20 per person. Seating
is limited . Tickets must be purchased in advance
by calling Hearthside House Museum at 401-726-0597.
