Thursday Five: Fire Station Roof, State Job, Diner, Receive

Happy Thursday, Woonsocket. Check out these things to know.

 

Fire Station Roof - The city's seeking bids for a new roof on Fire Station #1, (pitched roof section only) at 169 Providence St. The roof, built in 1960, has two layers of asphalt shingles on the main roof decking, the top layer is in disrepair and has been patched several times using "liquid shingle." Check out the specs for the joband see if your company can take it on.

State Job - There's a job posting for a social worker making at least $43,321 a year with the RI Human Services Department. Polish up your resume.

Diner for lease - Been itching to start up a new restaurant? Neighborworks Blackstone River Valley is offering experienced restauranteurs a lease of the diner car once home to “Champs Diner,” on Park Avenue, now waiting a new tenant and customers at 719 Front St. The car was one of more than 600 diners produced by the Worcester Lunch Car and Carriage Manufacturing Company. 

Applications to win the lease, including a resume and business plan, are due Feb. 13.
