Monday Five: Network, Pickup, Trash, Help Out, Trees

Fog Warning - The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a second DENSE FOG ADVISORY for Woonsocket and most of the surrounding area until 9:00 AM Monday.  Another batch of thick fog will envelope our region causing visibility to diminish to 1/4 of a mile or less and cause dangerous driving conditions.  Those who must travel are urged to use extreme caution while on roadways.

Council - Tonight the City Council and the city's General Assembly Delegation will talk about their concerns and issues they'd like to see the representatives champion this year, 7 p.m., in Harris Hall, City Hall.

Network - Tonight at Murphy's Law Pub in Pawtucket, 2 George St., the Northern RI Chamber of Commerce will host a networking at night  event from 5 to 7 p.m.

Help out - A bunch of folks are out of a home following yesterday's fire at 170 Lincoln St.Residents have set up collections for the families displaced by the fire on Facebook. The Renaud Family is in need clothing for their 2 young daughters ages 1 and 4. Sizes needed are 5T and 2T. They're in need of every-day items, too. 

Donations can be dropped off at The Primitive Millhouse 1452 Broncos Hwy Unit #15 Harrisville RI (Dunkin Donuts PLaza) and 166 Carrington Avenue in Woonsocket. 

Winter Trash Collection: The city's Solid Waste Division warns wintertime weather could delay trash and recycling collection. Every effort will be taken to ensure prompt service however if the roadways should become a safety issue for the rubbish trucks, then collection will be delayed to the following work day. To ensure curbside pick-up, the division asks residents to shovel an area that will allow the trash and recycling carts to sit level. Cart covers should be closed, preventing snow from weighing them down.

The collection vehicle's lifting arm requires clearance: three feet on all sides and 12 feet overhead. The carts should be no more than three feet away from the curb or road edge, and the arrows on the lid must be pointing toward the street, with the hinges facing away from your street. Your recycling cart should be placed at least 3 feet from the burgundy cart.
