Woonsocket resident's hire a reaction to improving housing market.

As the state’s housing market continues to show encouraging signs of improvement, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has hired Kathy Galipeau of Woonsocket to serve as a new sortgage specialist.

In this role, Kathy will work with the growing number of customers turning to BankRI for home loans by assessing their financial needs to identify the best mortgage product available. She will focus on Providence’s East Side, along with the communities of East Providence, Pawtucket and Woonsocket.

Prior to joining BankRI, Kathy worked for Accutrust Mortgage, Inc. as a Senior Mortgage Consultant.

“As a consultant for potential home loan customers, Kathy's vast experience will allow her to match customer needs and goals with our wide variety of flexible mortgage programs,” said Steven Parente, Senior Vice President, Director of Retail Banking for BankRI.  “Whether you’re purchasing or refinancing your home, it is typically the single largest investment that you will make, so it's important to have the guidance of a seasoned mortgage professional, like Kathy.  We are pleased to welcome Kathy to our team; she will be a valuable asset to the bank, our customers, and the community.”

Kathy studied at Canada College in Redwood City, California and currently lives in Woonsocket. In her spare time, she is an avid walker who enjoys the outdoors.
