Lining Up: DPW Getting Woonsocket Roads Ready for School

There are about 127 crosswalks in Woonsocket, and DPW crews have been out re-lining them for the past few weeks in preparation for the new school year starting Wednesday.

"It's a never-ending process," said Bryan Cote, a DPW worker out re-painting the crosswalk at Court Square. The DPW is handling most of the cross walks, but the state handles the handi-cap accessible ramps through the crosswalks, he said.

Cote, who was partnered for the the afternoon last week with Annette Hanson, said they start re-painting crosswalks as soon as the weather allows it, and continue through the end of the summer.
