Woonsocket Digs Out After Storm

Residents report satisfaction with road-clearing efforts.

Wednesday was cold and snow covered, but industrious folks were out clearing their walks and driveways with snowblowers and shovels this afternoon.

Many were too busy clearing snow from around their homes to have done much driving, though some light traffic traveled main roads in good condition and side streets requiring a little more care and stopping time.

Residents seemed satisfied with the job the DPW had done clearing the roads during this storm.

"Actually, it's pretty good," said Wanda Lafrenaye, who was busily clearing her driveway with the help of her daughter, Kendal, 17 on Monte Avenue. Lafrenaye said this road-clearing project is one of the best she's seen in recent years.

Lafrenaye, who works second shift and usually has a problem traveling home during snowstorms, said this time her ride home was smooth sailing. "It was amazing," she said.

"They did good this time," agreed Dianne Laforme on Winter Street.
