Friday Five: Movies, Blood Donors Needed, Trash, Lost Dog

Movies in the Park tonight! - Movies in the Parks returns Friday Nights in July, starting with Yogi Bear this evening at River Island Park at dusk. 
Woonsocket Parks & Recreation is offering FREE Shuttle Service 
to the movies and back for residents of  Kennedy Manor, Crepeau Court, St. Germain and Park View. Drop-off service will also be provided to residents of Hanora Lippett assisted living, who usually walk to the event. 

River Island Park Pick up times: 
Crepeau Court -  7 p.m.
Kennedy Manor - 7:10 p.m.
Park View - 7:20 p.m.
St. Germain - 7:30 p.m.

Give blood - From the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce: For hundreds of people hospitalized in our community, blood donors represent hope. With July 4 falling on a Thursday this year, blood collections are challenged. "We’re urging people to consider making a blood donation just before or after July 4 to assure that there is a safe and adequate blood supply on hand for those who rely upon it. Visit www.ribc.org to find a blood drive or donor center near you.

Rubbish, Recycling Schedule 
- The Woonsocket Material Recycle Facility located at 943 River St., Woonsocket will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Residents on the following collection days will be delayed by one day: Thursday and Friday.

Lost dog - Lilo (See photo) went missing on Tuesday in the area of Verdun Street and Mount St. Charles Street. The dog's family would appreciate any information you might have on the pooch's whereabouts. Call 401-649-5804 or 401-516-7936.

Summer School 
- The Connecting for Children & Families 8th Grade Transition Program is still enrolling 8th graders in need of summer school. The program will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Monday July 8 and concluding on Friday Aug. 16 at the Woonsocket Middle School. The cost is only $75 and payment plans can be can be arranged.
