Beer and Dynamite
The details of the first fundraiser to help the Jacob family, who lost their home in the Hillsdale Avenue fire, have been announced. The Beer and Dynamite event will take place on March 13th from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the . There will be Karaoke, raffles, prizes and a split the pot drawing and the donation is $20. Student Art at the Museum
Beacon Charter High School For The Arts will present a student art exhibit from Feb. 16 through March 26 at the . The opening reception will be held tomorrow night from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be catered by Beacon culinary students.

Business After Hours at Allaire
Also tomorrow, The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce will hold a Business After Hours at from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy a networking opportunity that includes delicious food and refreshments. The event costs $10 for chamber members who pre-register; $15 for members at the door; $25 non-members. Members can register for the event here.
Academic achievement
Marian E. Idahosa was selected as the recipient of the Raymond A. Ferland and Joseph P. DiMaria Student Assistance Scholarship for $400. Agnieszka M. Bilyj also received the award, in the amount of $250. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide money for students to buy books and supplies for their full-time courses of study.
Drop In, Not Out
The Citizens Bank Foundation recently supported the Boys & Girls Club of Woonsocket with a $5,000 grant for its “Drop in Not Out” program. This Teen Center is open for teens to drop in and enjoy varied activities and homework support after school. Special programs are offered from 5 to 6 p.m. many school days, and some Saturdays. One of the major goals of this program is to provide support for 150 teen members to consistently attend, succeed and graduate from high school.
