Woonsocket, RIToday Lee Ann Sennick, Chair of the Woonsocket Republican City Committee announced plans for the committee’s new Issues & Answers Voter Education Series, featuring informal meetings with candidates for Statewide Offices in 2014.  This program is designed to provide interested citizens the occasion to be more fully informed of candidates' positions and specific platform proposals.  The format will include a Question & Answer segment.  These informal forums will be free and open to the public.  The committee encourages everyone, across all parties and political spectrums, to attend these great opportunities to meet the candidates, gain information and get involved.

“As more and more people become aware of the impact of politics on their everyday lives, it becomes critical that people are afforded the ability to make an informed decision when they cast their vote.  What better way to do that than to meet the candidate in person, ask questions and get involved in the process.” stated Sennick.

First up in the series will be the Republican Gubernatorial Candidates.  Ken Block will present his platform and answer questions at 7:00 pm on April 3, 2014 at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library, 303 Clinton Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895.  On April 17, 2014, the committee will welcome Cranston Mayor and Gubernatorial Candidate, Allan Fung.  That event will also begin at 7:00 pm at Woonsocket Harris Public Library, again with a presentation of platform followed by a Q&A segment.  Further segments in the series will include US Senate Candidate Ray McKay on May 15, 2014 and RI Senator and candidate for Attorney General, Dawson Hodgson.

According to Sennick, “Woonsocket can’t afford to stay with the status quo, we need effective leaders who are responsible to their oaths of office and are accountable to the taxpayers who are deeply impacted by their governance.  I encourage everyone to attend this series of events designed to help us determine which candidates are qualified to lead RI to a brighter future.”
