GrowUp! Community Garden Informational Session

GrowUp is a community garden in Woonsocket that promotes positive change, sustainability and community involvement. The garden is located next to the Woonsocket Harris Public Library on land donated by the Pawtucket YMCA. Plots are available for community members who wish to grow food, herbs or flowers.  A nominal fee is charged to cover garden maintenance costs.  Renters are requested to donate 10% of their plot’s yield for distribution to local food pantries.  Last year, over 300 lbs of food was donated to people in need. The garden is currently seeking plot renters (individuals and organizations), as well as volunteers to get involved for the 2014 season.

A Garden Informational Session will be held on Wednesday, March 26th at 5:30pm at the Woonsocket Public Library, 303 Clinton St. in Woonsocket. Please RSVP to Wendy Pires at 401.235.6096 or wpires@famresri.org. Pre-registering is requested but walk-ins are welcome.
