1962- August 16: Pete Best is fired as The Beatles first drummer.

1963- August 3: The Beatles play for the last time at the Cavern Club.

1964- August 18: The Beatles leave London Airport for their first US concert tour.

1965- August 6: The LP "Help!" is released in the UK.

1966- August 8: The LP "Revolver" is released in the UK.

1967- August 27: Beatles manager Brian Epstein is found dead in bed in his London home.

1968- August 26: The single "Hey Jude"/"Revolution" is released in the US.

1969- August 8: All four Beatles are photographed walking across the pedestrian crossing outside EMI Studios in North London for the cover of "Abbey Road."
