Police Log: Near Crash Spares Car, Passenger Smashes Window

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

On Tuesday, May 15, at 5:15 p.m., responded to Sam's Smoke/Food Store, 775 Park Ave., for a report of a domestic disturbance.

They met a woman parked there near the gas pumps, with freshly broken glass around her car, who told them the passenger of her vehicle, Christopher Suarez, 333 Paradis Ave., apt. 1, became upset after she nearly struck another vehicle and punched her.

She asked Suarez to get out of the car, and as he got out he punched the passenger side front window, breaking it.

An officer called Suarez, who agreed to meet him to talk about the incident. Suarez admitted to breaking the window by accident, but denied hitting the woman. The officer noticed lacerations on Suarez's arm, and tansported him to Landmark Medical Center for treatment before taking him to police headquarters.

Suarez was charged with domestic simple assault and domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property.
