Police Log: Holiday Weekend Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Just a ride home-

Ronald Gamache, 53, of 547 Clinton St. was arrested on Saturday after an officer on patrol allegedly witnessed his PT Cruiser speeding and driving erratically. According to reports, the vehicle turned onto Prospect and then Gaskill Streets, driving on the wrong side of the road and oncoming cars were forced to swerve out of the way.

The vehicle was pulled over and officers identified Gamache and a female passenger. The woman said she was receiving a ride home from the area of . Neither Gamache or the female knew the other's name and the pair gave conflicting information as to where they were headed. Gamache told police he had "a bunch of drinks" at Post 7 and failed a field sobriety test. He was charged with driving under the influence, .(10-.15,) and the woman was released.

Probably not his best birthday/holiday-

Joseph Mcleod, 41 (DOB 12/25/70,) of 480 Winter St. was arrested at home at 11:15 p.m. Christmas night after police received a call for a domestic disturbance. According to reports, when police arrived Mcleod came outside and said he would like to be arrested. Mcleod allegedly told officers that he had been drinking and that he just found out his girlfriend of four years was cheating on him. Mcleod had punched holes in the wall of his apartment and knocked over a glass table.

How NOT to spread Christmas cheer-

Dereck Daniel, 28, of 277 Diamond Hill Rd. was arrested on Arnold St. at 11:56 p.m. Saturday night after an officer on patrol allegedly spotted a fight in progress. When police ordered the two men involved in the altercation to the ground, the victim, later identified as 40-year-old Albert Paul fell to his knees and said "help me please, this dude keeps hitting me." The second man, Daniel, did not initially respond to orders and struggled when police tried to cuff him.

According to Paul, Daniel, who had never met before, began the confrontation insidePost 62. Paul told officers Daniel began arguing with him and trying to pick a fight but that he had walked away. When Paul later went outside for a cigarette, Daniel allegedly followed him and punched him in the face. Daniel was arrested for assault and reportedly banged his own head against the bars of the cruiser on the way to the station.

Elizabeth Hadley, 22, of 213 Thayer St., Millville, MA was arrested at 1:42 a.m. in the area of 825 Front St. on Friday for driving under the influence, .15 or greater.

Jonathan Ramsey, 26, of 120 Ophelia St., Providence, was arrested in the area of 78 Oak St. at 10:40 a.m. on Friday for three bench warrants.

Travis Markiethe Bell, 33, of 107 Rebekah St. was arrested at home at 7:32 p.m. on Friday for domestic assault.

Josiah Bushway, 22, of 342 Elm St. was arrested on Park Avenue at 12:46 a.m. on Saturday for a warrant.

Michael Torres, 22, of 282 Front St. was arrested at home at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday for two charges of domestic assault and refusal to relinquish a telephone.

Willie Omar Rivera, 21, 0f 182 Cumberland St. was arrested at 104 Sayles St. at 2:42 a.m. on Saturday for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone and domestic assault. 

Joshua Cruickshank, 26, of 594 Diamond Hill Rd. was arrested at home at 9:25 a.m. on Saturday for disorderly conduct.

Deborah Ann Desrosiers, 50, of 141 Second Ave. was arrested on Walnut Street at 1:20 a.m. on Monday for a warrant.

Angela Lopez, 41, of 29 Ascension St. was arrested at 6:39 p.m. in the area of 269 High St. on Monday for a warrant and driving without a license.

Calvin James Smith, 37, of 20 Bourdon Blvd. was arrested at home at 9:58 p.m. on Monday for domestic assault and refusal to relinquish a telephone.

Patrick Price, 19, of 323 Main St. was arrested at home at 2:56 a.m. this morning for for assault.
