I understand that Mr. Debroisse may feel that he has reached all home owners via local papers and radio media. But he fails to recognize that the city had home owners who rent the property and live out of state. How is he getting the message to these people? To have done this properly an insert should have been included with any of the city's standard billing on top f use of all media. Then schedule the pickup after the message was clearly announced.

Still hope, you certainly would be the one missing it if you were having that heart attack or stroke. A rescue team can do just so much. A true ER unit is a absolute necessity when you are coding or having an aneurism. By the time the rescue team gets you to providence it will be time for your last rites. A four to five minute ride vs a twenty or twenty five minute ride is a matter of life and death. Either you just don't get it or you just don't care.

This is an absolute ridiculous situation! Why should my tax dollars or any dollars go towards schooling ILLEGALS when I or we as born Americans cannot afford put our own kids through college? If they wish to “improve the intellectual and cultural life of our state while strengthening our work force and helping our economy”. Then do it by helping our own, not someone who broke laws to come and suck off the system. Clearly this just burns me up! Period!

  • On the article City Pipes To Be Flushed For First Time In A Decade

I have had dirty water since the day I bought my house on Pine street 12 years ago. When I first complained they told me it was most likely my water pipes in the house. So I had my entire house re-plumed with all new copper pipe, faucets, toilets and water heater. I also had a whole house water filter installed at that time. Since then I spend upwards of 150$ to 200$ a year on waters filters that get so dirty and black it makes you ill just to look at them. Several times the water dept has come and flush out the main from the house. When they did it ran quite dirty for several minutes and cleared up. This is what I have to do every time I change a filter. They told me to call and they would send someone to flush my house. But I do not have time to take out of work to have a guy come and flush my water main every few months. It's a big waste of water (money for me), and the cost of filters is terrible on top of the waters bills. I sure hope this flushing process cleans up the water instead of sending more of a mess into my house. Please clean it out good!

Can we see the line item spending? Then maybe from that we can make recommendations.

If I am correct and please correct me if I am wrong. But the grant would process the initial project. But where would the money come from afterward to maintain this area? The city tax payers I assume. Has this been completely though out? We (the City) cannot afford to maintain other areas of the city, parks and the like. How would we pay for this? In no way would this grant have a maintenance payment.
