UPDATE: Man Killed After Driving Mustang Into Tree Overnight Identified
AG, State Police performing routine investigation into crash that killed Anthony Lescarbeau.
Attorney General Peter Kilmartin's office and the RI State Police are investigating a fatal crash overnight caused when Anthony Lescarbeau, 33, fled Woonsocket Police during a traffic stop. The driver of the red Ford Mustang was transported to Rhode Island hospital by helicopter last night and has since died, WPRI.com reports. Emily Martineau, spokesperson for Kilmartin's office, said the Attorney General and the State Police are conducting an investigation into the crash, which is routine under these circumstances. Martineau said last night, Woonsocket Police were making a traffic stop when the driver of the Mustang, whom Martineau would only identify as a 33-year-old man from the Blackstone area, fled, crashing into a tree.
