  Editor's note: The following reports were posted on the RI State Police website last week: Lincoln woods barracks: At 11 p.m., April 19, troopers arrested Xavier A Diaz, age 26, of 441 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence, RI on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks for 1) Operating on a Suspended License and 2) Obstruction. Diaz was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Sixth District Court. Lincoln barracks: At 5:10 p.m., April 18, troopers arrested Jennifer L.   Editor's note: The following reports from the Scituate Barracks were posted on the RI State Police website this week: Traffic stop reveals man in possession of marijuana On April 12 at 10:52 a.m., Troopers arrested Luis Sanchez, age 20, of 183 Burnside Ave., Woonsocket, RI, for Possession of Marijuana. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cumberland Hill Road in the City of Woonsocket. Sanchez was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and then taken to Sixth District Court. Hey, Baywatch - It appears to be decriminalized in some New England States, with the exception of RI, NH and VT: http://bit.ly/4H8BpG. Nearby, CT and MA have decriminalized it. In both of those states, there are still civil fines for possession.   more ›

Providence Man arrested on Woonsocket Police warrant On April 10 at 2:07 p.m., Troopers arrested Jason Reed, age 24, 38 Taylor St., 1st Floor, Providence, RI for a 6th District Court Warrant for Failure To Appear for Ability To Pay on a charge of Driving With a Suspended License originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department.
