Man In Jail for Illegal Knife, Suspended License Charged for Vandalizing Cell

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  A man Woonsocket police charged with driving on a suspended license and carrying a illegal knife added vandalism to the charges against him when he pounded on the plexiglass of his cell, cracking it. Jacob Aaron Lawson, 29, of 45 Ascension St., apt. 2FL, wound up in a cell within hearing of his girlfriend had been placed in March 25 at 5:52 a.m When Officer Jeffrey Gagnon checked in on them, he noticed a window in Lawson's cell was cracked. When he asked Lawson about it, the man said he had caused the damage by banging on the window with the palm of his hand. Gagnon noted the window had suffered prisoners' blows in the past without damage. Gagnon reported that Lawson repeatedly banged on the window while telling the woman to calm down. …

Vandals Strike Harris Public Library Windows, Cause $700 In Damage

  Assistant Library Director Kim Shipala gave video footage of vandals breaking into the Woonsocket Harris Public Library to Woonsocket Police today hoping it will lead them to the men who caused $700 in damage Sunday night. Shipala said the break-in occurred at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday night, when she and Woonsocket Police were alerted by the building's alarm system. The vandals threw rocks at the windows in the front of the building first, she said, but those bounced off the tempered glass there. Next, they threw rocks through a window in the Woonsocket Room meeting space and then threw rocks at the atrium area, breaking several windows there.  The vandals entered the library through one of the broken windows in the atrium, and one of them…

Troopers Catch Man Wanted For Vandalism, Violating No Contact Order

Traffic stop leads to arrest of man wanted by Woonsocket Police.

  State Troopers arrested Troy Archambault, 34, of 52 Avenue B, 2nd Floor, wanted by Woonsocket Police for violating a protection order and vandalism after pulling him over for a moving violation on Social Street Nov. 10, At 12:48 p.m. On Oct. 29, a woman on Vose Street told police she had seen a gold SUV parked outside the front of her home at about 6 a.m. while she was letting her dogs out. She walked toward the vehicle to check on what it was doing parked near her house, and saw Archambault driving as it pulled away. At 6:30 a.m., she said, she noticed the SUV parked directly near her car, which now had scratch marks on the drivers side quarter panel and trunk and a flat right rear tire.
