North Smithfield Driver Arrested For DUI After Striking Lincoln Police Cruiser

Crash on 146 occurred while Lincoln officer was assisting disabled vehicle

  State Police arrested a North Smithfield man Sunday morning for DUI after he drove his car into the cruiser of a Lincoln officer stopped to assist a motorist on Rte. 146.  State police responded to the scnee at 3:20 a.m. March 3 for a call for a motor vehicle accident on Route 146 North, just north of Route 295. Upon arrival, Troopers observed that Route 146 was shut down and traffic was diverted to Route 295. Three vehicles were involved, including a Lincoln Police Cruiser. All three operators were transported to Rhode Island Hospital for their injuries.   Scituate barracks: Troopers arrest man for failing to appear for community service review on DUI charge At 4:39 p.m. Jan. 28, Troopers arrested Cristano Medina, age 42, of 314 Wood Ave., for a 6th District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Community Service Review, on a charge of Driving Under the Influence (1st Offense – Blood Alcohol Content Unknown), originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Kendrick Street, in the City of Woonsocket. Medina was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting surety bail with a justice of the peace. Officials Search for Escaped Sex Offender

The following information was provided by the Rhode Island State Police

  The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force is searching for Robert Leroy Spaulding, 34,  with a last known address of Greenville Ave. in Johnston.  According to police, Spaulding has escaped from home confinement. He was awaiting trial on 1st Degree Child Molestation and 2 counts of being in violation of the Sex Offender Notification of Change of Address.  He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 140 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, having a tattoo right shoulder, tattoo left shoulder, tatto upper right arm.  Spaulding may be operating RI registration 535375 displayed on a 1997 Saab 900 four door color green. Trooper Log: Traffic Stop Corrals Sex Offender Supervision Scofflaw

  Wickford Barracks: Troopers arrest man for sex offender supervision violations At 11:14 a.m. Dec. 30, Troopers arrested Michael Dorego, 36, of 233 Second St., Woonsocket, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Violation of Community Supervision (for Sex Offense Against a Child – Fondling) originating out of the Rhode Island State Police Department of Corrections Detective Division. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South, in the City of Warwick, in which Dorego was the passenger. State Police report Dorego failed to notify his parole officer of his earlier arrest by Groton, CT police. State Police Add Patrols Through Jan. 1

They will be stepping up enforcement for speeding, driving while impaired, aggressive driving, texting violations, seat belt, and child restraint violations.

Rhode Island State Police Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell announced today that during the New Year’s holiday, the Rhode Island State Police will have additional patrols throughout the state. The force will be stepping up enforcement for speeding, driving while impaired, aggressive driving, texting violations, seat belt, and child restraint violations. These patrols are in addition to regular patrols and are targeting impaired and reckless operators. The goal is to make our highways safer and everyone’s New Year a happy and memorable one, O'Donnell said in a release.   During the holiday weekend, there is an expected an increase in the volume of traffic along the highways throughout the state. Two Woonsocket Store Owners Charged With Pirating Hundreds Of DVDs

State Police, Woonsocket Police conducted investigation last month.

  Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, announces that at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, members of the Rhode Island State Police Intelligence Unit, assisted by members of the Woonsocket Police Department and Rhode Island Division of Taxation, arrested two Woonsocket convenience store owners for Piracy of Recordings without the Consent of Owner. During the month of September 2012, members of the Intelligence Unit conducted an investigation into the illegal sale of pirated digital versatile discs (DVDs) at two convenience stores within the City of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
