Luis Pabon, 35, was driving past 777 Cass Ave., with a large GPS unit on the drivers side window and a large crack on the window, both blocking his view. Those elements of his driving style earned Pabon a traffic stop interview with Officer Andrew Girard. Girard stopped Papon's car, and when he approached he noticed there were several open beer containers on the front passenger side floor. A check of Pabon's license and revealed he had a Superior Court warrant for a suspended sentence violation and a Woonsocket Police warrant for failing to register a change of address as a sex offender. Man turned himself in after seeing reports on troopers' search.
The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested escpaped child molester Robert Leroy Spaulding, 34, of Johnston, yesterday in Providence after he turned himself in. Task Force members had been searching for Spaulding since Dec. 28, when The Adult Correctional Institution, who monitored Spaulding on home confinement while he waited trial for a July 23, 2010 First-Degree Child Molestation charge by the Burrillville Police Department, reported his bracelet had been removed. Spaulding, convicted of Second-Degree Child Molestation in 1997, had been on home confinement and monitored via electronic bracelet since Aug. 21, 2010. The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force is searching for Robert Leroy Spaulding, 34, with a last known address of Greenville Ave. in Johnston. According to police, Spaulding has escaped from home confinement. He was awaiting trial on 1st Degree Child Molestation and 2 counts of being in violation of the Sex Offender Notification of Change of Address. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 140 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, having a tattoo right shoulder, tattoo left shoulder, tatto upper right arm. Spaulding may be operating RI registration 535375 displayed on a 1997 Saab 900 four door color green. Vehicle depicted is a similar looking vehicle. Wickford Barracks: Troopers arrest man for sex offender supervision violations At 11:14 a.m. Dec. 30, Troopers arrested Michael Dorego, 36, of 233 Second St., Woonsocket, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Violation of Community Supervision (for Sex Offense Against a Child – Fondling) originating out of the Rhode Island State Police Department of Corrections Detective Division. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South, in the City of Warwick, in which Dorego was the passenger. State Police report Dorego failed to notify his parole officer of his earlier arrest by Groton, CT police. Jamie Britt, 33, of Woonsocket, a convicted level three sex offender who is required to register as a sex offender under both Rhode Island and Massachusetts law but failed to do so, was sentenced today in federal court in Providence to 30 months in prison, according to United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha and Jamie A. Hainsworth, U.S. Marshal for the District of Rhode Island. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Mary M. Lisi ordered Britt’s federal sentence be served concurrent to a four-year state sentence for felony assault which Britt has been serving at the ACI since January 2012.
