[VIDEO] Rams Lose in Final Minute to Seton Hall
A 3-point shot from Xavier Munford misses, and Seton Hall hits free throws down the stretch to beat the Rams 60-55.
UNCASVILLE, CT – The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team was about three minutes short in its quest for its first win, faltering down the stretch and losing 60-55 to the Seton Hall Pirates. The Rams (0-4) led for much of the game, but saw a 10-point second half lead slowly evaporate as Seton Hall (3-1) pounded the paint, both with drives from guards and post-ups from Eugene Teague. The forward finished with a game high 21 points and nine rebounds. In contrast, the Rams had to rely on their guards again. Sophomore point guard Mike Powell played his best game of the year, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds, four turnovers and two assists in 38 minutes, one night after he played 40 minutes.
