Police Log: Man Reports He Was Threatened With Gun, Fights Responding Officers

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police risked life and limb driving in snowy conditions to make it to the home of Jody Dilazzaro, 39, of 143 Oakton St., Apt. 2 when he reported that a man had entered his apartment and held a gun to his head Dec. 29 at 6:40 p.m. On the way through snow-slick streets, officers had to drive at 15-20 mph to avoid losing control of their cruisers. Officer Scott Breguet fishtailed several times on his way to Dilazzaro's address, according to his report. Breguet also reported that other drivers on the street were having difficulty stopping promptly to allow the cruisers to pass.  When police arrived, they found Dilazzaro, unidentified at the time, sitting on the front steps of his building in the snow, and ordered him to show his …

City Man Led Police On Foot Chase, Violating Bail Sept. 29

Justin Menard, on bail for charges of firing shots at a man and blocking a street, fled police and resisted arrest.

A man on bail after turning himself in last month for a shooting on Florida Street, also a suspect in a recent assault, punched an officer while resisting arrest Thursday night.  Justin R. Menard, 25, of Woonsocket, is being held without bail pending a November hearing.  Menard evaded police for months while wanted in connection with a shooting on Florida St. In September, he turned himself in for the incident, in which he is accused of blocking a roadway and shooting at Alvin Huggins. Huggins backed his vehicle into a house to escape the gunfire. Menard was released on bail, but came to the attention of police again on Sept. 22 when they responded to Brews & Cues at 42 Rathbun St. for a fight at 11 p.m., said Woonsocket Police Det. Eugene…

I read those comments from the Florida St article. Frankly, it looks like his "friends" want to defend him but it comes down to this: whatever the case is with the Florida St shooting, and whether or not the "victim" is also the perpertrator is not the issue.
