Naked Man Calls Officer ‘Honky Racist’ Middletown police had their hands full from the get-go with one arrest last week. Police pulled the man over and asked him to exit his car after they reportedly smelled marijuana. Apparently, the man didn’t quite understand the new marijuana decriminalization laws and began yelling, “Marijuana is legal now. Why you being aggressive? This is ‘cause I’m black.” He allegedly refused to cooperate with police, calling them racists and reiterating that he was a grown man. Things didn’t settle down once they got the man in handcuffs in the police cruiser as he began banging his head against the window while swearing and yelling. Police Log: Tipster Alerts Police To Burglary Suspect

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  On July 12, Woonsocket Police responded to 82 Grand St. at noon to speak with Ken Dube, who said his mother's house there had just been broken into. Dube said he arrived at the home at 11:30 a.m. to find a person he recognized as Peter Daignault, 21, leaving the apartment. Since Daignault doesn't live there, Dube chased him down Grand Street and onto Logee Street, but lost sight of him, he said. When Dube returned to the home, he found a window had been opened, with the blinds disturbed as if someone had just crawled through. He said his wallet, containing $100, was missing, and that he wanted to file a complaint. On Sept. 17, Woonsocket Police received a tip from an anonymous caller telling them that Daignault, who now had a warrant for…

Scrambled or Over-Easy? A shoplifter who fled the Garfield Avenue Stop and Shop was so upset after getting pulled over near the scene, she allegedly threw a broken carton of eggs at Cranston Police Officer Ryan Dimbleby, police said. Police said Angela M. Ferrer, 41, of 118 Prudence St., Providence, allegedly stole about $43 worth of groceries from the supermarket. Store security officers said they watched Ferrer conceal items from the shelves in her carriage, and when she passed through the check out line, handed the cashier a bag of produce that she no longer wanted. She then allegedly left the store without paying for the concealed items, at which point she was stopped out front by security. Police said Ferrer told the guard that she …

OMGPD: Bath Salts and a Sugar Buzz

Check out some of the more unusal police reports from around the state.

Bleeping Bath Salts Narragansett police had an interesting time trying to wrangle a woman who was reportedly on hallucinogenic drugs this past weekend. Officers received a call from the staff at Bon Vue Inn in Narragansett regarding a 32-year-old woman acting erratically at the bar. Police were able to locate the woman quickly, as she was reportedly breathing heavily and shaking uncontrollably. The police tried to bring her to her boyfriend’s house, but she reportedly sprinted toward a nearby restaurant, at which point officers decided it was a good idea to bring her to the hospital. While on the way to the hospital, the woman began screaming and yelled, “I shouldn’t have done those. I shouldn’t have done those [expletive] bath salts.” (…

Police Log: Cocaine Seized in Park Avenue Raid

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police seized a cache of crack cocaine during a Friday raid on a Park Avenue apartment, and charged the occupant with distribution of a controlled substance. John Perry, 40, of 373 Park Ave., also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Officers allegedly found 51 small plastic bags containing crack cocaine hidden in a sock in the attic. The packets, which weighed a total of 23 grams, have an estimated street value of $2,550. Police also turned up small amounts of marijuana throughout the apartment, with an estimated value of $265. Teen charged with rape and felony assault

A 15-year-old Woonsocket youth, whose name was not disclosed because if his age, faces charges of rape and assault, the result of a police investigation into allegations made by his girlfriend. Det. Ronald Marcos took up the case in mid-February, after interviewing the boy's 17-year-old girlfriend at St. Mary's Home for Children in North Providence. According to her statements, the first assault took place in September, when both of them were students in Woonsocket. She said he struck her face several times with his fist, leaving her right eye black and blue. The assault took place in a bedroom in the boy’s home. A week later they were together in his bedroom again. They argued, and he allegedly grabbed her by the hair and dragged her …

True, Jo, but Erin's right. It's more complicated than that. Let's remember that this girl is 17, and probably hasn't been in many relationships yet. She may have been raised in a home where physical abuse was the norm. Or, she could have been gradually sucked into this situation. Police Log: Burrillville Men Arrested With 'Green Leafy Substance'

Two Burrillville men heading home after a night out at a local bar found themselves under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana. An officer monitoring downtown traffic early Thursday morning saw their car leave the lot at City Side at a high rate of speed. He stopped the vehicle on the Main Street Bridge, and another officer arrived to assist him. When the officer approached the car, he allegedly smelled alcohol on the breath of driver Christopher J. Keegan, 23, of 144 Round Top Road, Harrisville. When questioned, Keegan said he'd had a couple of drinks at City Side, and was heading home. The other officer checked for warrants and found one for the car's passenger, Corey Hodson, 23, of 266 Centennial St., Pascoag. He told Hodson…

Police Log: Leaving Dents, Tossing Bologna

An alleged romance that sizzled only briefly led to the arrest of a 20-year-old city woman. Caroline Petrone, of 56 Olo St., is facing a charge of vandalism. The investigation began several weeks ago, when a local man went to the police station and told Detective Ronald Marcos someone had put dents in his car and scratched the paint. He reportedly blamed Petrone, a woman with whom hesaid he had a brief relationship. He told the detective Petrone and her roommate, Stephanie Grenier, had hosted a party and bragged to guests about damaging his car. Another friend, Cheyenne White, had allegedly witnessed the conversation. When the detective interviewed White, she told him Petrone was upset because her one-time boyfriend had quickly lost …
