Detective Thomas Gormley was following leads in the investigation of a breaking and entering on Valley Street in Blackstone, MA May 13, learning that items similar to those taken from the break-in had been sold at Gold Loan Exhange in Woonsocket, recently, leading to an arrest. Gormley spoke with the manager of Gold Loan Exhange May 8, learning that a woman had been in recently, selling him a Panasonic LCD 32" TV, a Sony Playstation, and an XBox 360 for $140. The items were among those reported taken from the Blackstone home, according to Gormley's report. When Woonsocket Police officer Jason Berthelette caught up with James Lambert, 23, of 44 Oak St., apt. 3RDF outside the Our Pad bar on River Street April 13, the assault suspect admitted the crime. "I hope I put him in the hospital," James said, according to Berthelette's report. As it happened, the victim, Joshua DaSilva, 20, was on his way to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries to his head and neck after being beaten and by James and his brother, Christopher Lambert, 21, at the second floor apartment of James's ex-girlfriend, Stephanie Sepulveda 19, also at 44 Oak St., according to Sepulveda and DaSilva. Woonsocket Police Officer Jason Berhtelette was on Cumberland Hill Road March 18 at about 1:08 a.m. when the gold 2002 Pontiac sedan driven by Tori Fenoff, 19, of 153 Progresso Ave. with its headlights off caught his attention. Berhtelette observed the Pontiac as it approached the Ho Kong restaurant toward the inner city sans headlights, pulling it over on Florence Drive, Berhtelette reported. As he approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, Fenoff, Berhtelette said he could detect a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car. She said she was on her way home from a friend's house, making a stop to drop off her passenger, according to Berhtelette's report. Officers responding to an assault call were saved a little police work Feb. 23 when Shanira Vliafane, 18, exited apartment 1 at 337 Third Ave. while they were interviewing the victim and said, "Ya, I swung on her, I started it." Vilafane followed this revelation by turning and placing her hands behind her for police to handcuff, according to Officer Michael Flood's report. Flood obliged and Vilafane was transported to Woonsocket Police Headquarters on Clinton Street. When police first arrived at the address, they met Crystal Leclair outside, who told them Vilafane had gotten into an argument with her brother, also Vilafane's boyfriend, the previous night and was transported to Landmark Medical Center for an evaluation for suicidal …

Woonsocket Detectives heard two women's voices coming from the home at 322 Paradis Ave., Apt. 1 when they showed up looking for Victoria Fusco, 22, a suspect in a Jan. 29 Glen Road burglary. But when Fusco's roommate, Emily Levasseur, 22, answered the door, she said the woman wasn't at home. Police searched the home, locating Fusco in the second floor bedroom, according to Detective Sgt. Kevin Greenough's report. Levasseaur was arrested and charged with obstructing police. Fusco was arrested for the burglary of 147 Glen Road, the home of Levasseur's parents, Paul and Annette. At 1:12 a.m. Feb. 14, Officer Matthew Labine saw a Ford SUV pass his cruiser sporting a broken drivers side tail light, which proved unfortunate for the passenger, Joe Moreau, 23, who was wanted on domestic assault. Labine pulled the SUV over, identifying the operator as Kathryn Antonitis, 28, who provided a MA license. The front passenger said he had no ID and said his name was Joe Allard. When asked for a social security number or address, he was unable to provide either. Labine asked him to step out of the SUV for a weapons-check, which he did, telling the officer that he had lied about his identity and was actually Joe Moreau. Woonsocket Police Sgt. Kenneth Marcotte was observing traffic at Market Square Feb. 14 at about 1 a.m. when he observed a grey Nissan speeding out of Ye Olde English Fish and Chips parking lot onto River Street. Marcotte followed, clocking the car at 40 mph in a 25 mph zone as it turned left on Providence Street, continuing at speeds in excess of 35 mph. The car swerved into traffic at the intersection of Providence Street and Coe Street, at which time Marcotte decided to pull the car over. While on Roland Street for an unrelated vandalism report, Officer Jason Berthelette saw the gray 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Denise Spear, 49, of Harrisville fishtail as it turned left onto the road from Diamond Hill Avenue. The street was not plowed well, according to Berthelette's report, cleared to only one lane, with about six inches of snow and slush remaining. The Jeep continued at about 30 miles an hour, and Berthelette could only pursue at about 20 mph safely, he wrote. Another officer was at the opposite end of the street and was able to stop the Jeep. Officer Andrew Girard was patrolling the area of Blackstone Street Feb. 4, at about 1:20 a.m. when he observed the car driven by Sean Berard, 33, of 55 Reservoir Ave., go through the stop sign at Blackstone Street and Harris Avenue without coming to a complete stop. Girard followed the vehicle as it made a right onto Blackstone Street, traveling at about 40 mph through a 25 mph zone, according to Girard's report. The officer pulled the vehicle over, and Berard drove onto the sidewalk while stopping for him. When Girard asked if Berard had been drinking, the driver's reply was "Yes". Woonsocket Police report a city man committed a classic criminal blunder early Wednesday morning, returning to the scene of his burglary the previous day for a second raid. According to police reports, Percy Eugene Standifer, 25, 136 East St., apt. 2R, was caught breaking into the Mason Street Quick Mart at 12:15 a.m. the second time in two nights, stealing a total of about $865. On Tuesday at about the same time, Officer Christopher M. Bouvier reports he responded to the same location for a burglary, but didn't locate the suspect.
