City Woman Opens Avon Storefront

Alesia Desjardins working to make BEAUTY and more 4 LESS a success.

  Alesia Desjardins, 26, a lifelong resident of Woonsocket, loved selling beauty products to people so much she decided to open a store on Park Avenue and be her own boss. The Bernon Heights resident has been an Avon sales rep for about a year and a half now. "I just absolutely love it," she said. She began with Avon as a part-time job, but she discovered she really enjoyed the work. She realized she was not just good at selling for Avon, but also had a knack for selling at her full-time job as a stock supervisor at the outlets in Wrentham, MA. "I feel that I sell a lot of stuff when I am there," Desjardins said. She figured she ought to capitalize on her talent for sales and work for herself. That required taking a position with less …

East Side Edibles Opens For Business

Cicilline attends ribbon cutting for shop's first day.

  East Side Edibles proprietor Paula Paulette got some help cutting the ribbon for her shop's grand opening Saturday morning from US Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI). The shop, which sells "Out of the ordinary edibles and custom gifts" (The chocolates, for instance, are infused with ingredients like cayenne pepper and sea salt), officially opened for business Saturday, June 30 at 11 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the 987 Cass Ave. location. Cicilline presented a Congressional Citation to Eastside Edibles owner Paula Paulette during the ceremony. “Small businesses like Eastside Edibles make up the backbone of our state’s economy,” said Cicilline.  “I was delighted to join Paula for her grand opening, and I look forward to working …

I love this store, they have great stuff. I tried the jam and chocolate covered cherries, they are so good. I can't wait to try the rest of the stuff. She also has great gift ideas and they would make great baskets, I will be doing that this holiday.   more ›
