Ernest Boisvert, City's Veteran of the Year, will be Grand Marshal during Memorial Day Parade Monday.

When Americans honor those who died in service On Memorial Day Monday, Vietnam Veteran Ernest Boisvert will recite some of their names, including a few friends. Boisvert served with the 4th Infantry Division from Sept. 1966 to Sept. 1967 as an Infantryman during the Vietnam war, earning the rank of E5 (Specialist 5th class).  Boisvert said he befriended all of the men he served with as they shared an intense eight months of training. "I have no brothers and the guys I was with I called my siblings, so to speak," Boisvert said. One of those guys, Jim Blanchard, was from Pascoag, RI. If you're on a mobile device, click here to view the map. When you're done getting gas and packing the car, check out live results from MapQuest above to see what's standing between you and the start of your three-day weekend. Mapquest scans for parade routes, ongoing construction, block parties and traffic jams. If your route is green, your good. If it's red, you may be headed into a line of rubbernecking fools. Good luck!

Click here for a full-screen view of the gas price map. If you don't see a map of our local area, click the magnifying glass in the upper right to enter your address. "Motorists this year are facing rising gas prices heading into the Memorial Day holiday," said Michael Green, a AAA spokesman, adding that Memorial Day 2013 would probably be the most expensive since 2011.  In past years, prices have declined heading into early summer as oil refineries produced more gasoline to meet expected summer driving demand. This year, though, Midwest refineries haven't …

I am very proud of the patriotism that was shown during the parade. Many spectators and most participants were decked out in Red, White, and Blue. Way to go Pack 2! They had great Scout salutes at every stationery flag along the parade route. Dan Tvaroha - Cubmaster Pack 2   more ›
