Grand Jury Rules Woonsocket Police Justified In Pursuit Of Anthony Lescarbeau

Ruling: Officers' actions complied with state law.

  A Statewide Grand Jury has concluded its investigation into the June 14 Woonsocket Police pursuit of Anthony Lescarbeau, 33, that resulted in his death, clearing the department of any wrongdoing. Attorney General Peter Kilmartin's office and the RI State Police investigated the fatal crash caused when Lescarbeau fled Woonsocket Police during a traffic stop. According to a release from the Attorney General's office, "The Statewide Grand Jury has determined that the actions by the Woonsocket Police officers complied with state law and determined that the actions of the officers were legally justified." Yes your right. There should be no civil suit. There should be an arrest. It was not just the police chase that killed Anthony. If you knew what someone did to him to make him act like he did. He never ran from the police ever. I like to tell everyone, but I can't say it on here. There is a lot more to this story, and it is not about what the Woonsocket police did. Claim In Anthony Lescarbeau's Death Hinges On Woonsocket Police Pursuit Policy

Attorney General still investigating fatal crash June 14 after driver fled police traffic stop.

  A lawyer representing the children of Anthony Lescarbeau, killed in a June 14 crash after fleeing a police traffic stop, has filed a claim against the city that could cost Woonsocket at least $250,000. "The incident didn't require a chase," said attorney Ronald J. Resmini, who is representing Lescarbeau's three minor children, two with Marissa Pizzarelli and one with Tricia Ambrosino.
