Halloween Weekend Nor'Easter; Power Outages Likely

As the snow falls on on our jack-o-lanterns, we can only say "Happy Halloween, New England."

A Halloween snowstorm? Spooky. In Woonsocket, snowfall began around 4 p.m., despite predictions that flurries wouldn't arrive until mid-evening. According to the National Weather Service, "heavy wet snow, falling on trees with remaining foliage, could lead to many downed tree branches and power outages."  In addition, High Wind Warnings for gusts to 60 mph are in effect for coastal areas from middle Long Island and southern Connecticut up to eastern Maine, including Boston. Coastal Flood Warnings are in effect for coastal areas of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and Cape Cod. In New Jersey, Gov. Chris Christie declared a state of emergency after the storm left half a million without power. The storm's toll on New England remains to be seen…
